The Elsie dress from Lady V London is a short sleeved, knee length, wrap dress, available in loads of gorgeous colours. It features a v neck and a ruched gathered ruffle to the side. I tried the Summer Paisley print, which is a gorgeous teal shade, with a vibrant flower, butterfly, and lemon print. I absolutely adore this print, it’s super striking and a bit quirky and fun too!

I love how it looks on! It definitely gives a flattering hourglass outline, courtesy of the nipped in panel around the ribs and the ruched gather to the side ruffle. I definitely feel like a bit of a seductive vixen, I need to wear this on my next date night for sure!

It’s made of a 95% polyester and 5% elastane mix, so there’s a good bit of stretch to the material. Being polyester I always worry about the material being too thin or plasticy, but there are no issues in that regard and I would say it’s a medium thickness material.

This dress is available in sizes 8-22.  According to the website my measurements are closest to a size 16. I tried both my usual size 14 and a 16 and the smaller size was a better fit. The 16 was a little loose in some areas.  I would say it’s true to size leading to generous fitting. Most people would probably be fine in their usual size or be able to size down, the stretch makes this dress a little more forgiving than average.  I’m 5”6 and the asymmetrical hem is just below my knee.

I can breastfeed my little one easily in this dress. The v neck is very stretchy and can be pulled down.  Due to my toddler loving a breast buffet and requiring both boobs out at once, I can confirm this dress would be fine for tandem feeders!  There’s lots of room for both breasts to be out at once.  I’m not too phased, but if you prefer a more discreet feed, I would say this is probably not the dress for you, as you are left fairly exposed. A black lacy bandeau or crop underneath would sort this though, and allow “one up, one down”.

I love this dress, I feel quite flirty and sensual wearing it!  It’s definitely a smoking date night/night out dress! (Those still happen, right?!).  I particularly think the Cream Antique colourway is stunning for a wedding or christening.  Whichever pattern you select, with so many to choose from, you’re sure to find an Elsie that is perfect for your occasion!
