We at Can I Breastfeed In It are super stoked to announce that we will be running a fashion show at BOOBSTOCK – a super fun and informative breastfeeding event with a (vintage) twist! Boobstock is the first of its kind in the World and Glasgow is the lucky pioneer host city for this progressive and diverse event.
Visitors will be treated to a photography exhibition, the first of its kind showcasing Mums styled in vintage glamour, demonstrating the wonderful diversity of breastfeeding.
Our fun, breastfeeding friendly fashion show will provide plenty of clothing inspiration that show how easily accessible fashion can be for breastfeeding. Brands will include the much desired Molke and Lindy Bop, Joanie and more! Vanity Thrills Hair and Make-up is co-ordinating a ‘pop up parlour’ pampering guests with 1940’s victory rolls, Madmen inspired updo’s and of course, some statement red lips!
Guests are encouraged to grab a knitted boob and make their way to ‘The Bygone Photobooth’ for some poses and capture fun and playful memories of the day. There will be a number of stalls to browse which will include a pop-up breastfeeding support group ran by ‘The Breastfeeding Network’, information about breastfeeding and where to get help and support as well as clothing for Mums and wee ones.
There will also be some taster sessions of kid’s classes including Bookbug, and fitness classes courtesy of Michelle from Mama Strong – for Mums and wee ones.
Guest speakers, including the World renowned and respected Professor Amy Brown – author of ‘Breastfeeding Uncovered’ and International academic as well as Debbie Barnett, infant feeding advisor and co-ordinator of One Milk Bank for Scotland will be providing talks, offering a wealth of knowledge and information.
As Boobstock is aiming to be as inclusive as possible a number of free entry tickets will be available to those who may struggle with ticket cost. For those who feel they may qualify they are invited to email: [email protected]
Boobstock is a not for profit event which hopes to recoup costs through sales of tickets and merchandise. The motivation behind this project came from a passion to support families and educate people on the wonders and possibilities of breastfeeding.
Should any profit be made it will be donated to One Milk Bank for Scotland and Best Beginnings charity. Glasgow Caledonian University will host the very first Boobstock on Sunday the 2nd of September.
Adult tickets are £12.50, children 2+years £4.50 and children under two get free entry.
The venue is situation directly across from Glasgow’s main bus station, meaning top transport links (c’mon, who doesn’t love the mega bus?!) and Glasgow’s two central train stations are both within a 15 minute walk. We can’t wait to be a part of this, and hope to see some of you there. Tickets can be purchased at
